  1. Lukashenko likes the SUPPORT he gets from Russia (without which he would be jobless), and Putin likes the fact that ONE former Soviet Republic answers to him. Beyond that, I don't think there is any love lost between the two. It would be nice (but surely too much to ask) if the Belarussians picked Victory Day to depose Lukashenko, put him on a bus, and drop him off at the Russian border.

  2. Great show as always Jake. One thing I disagree with is the desirability of Russia breaking up into pieces - that would cause a lot of chaos, anarchy and misery; kind of a repeat of the nineties, but worse, followed by another autocratic Putinesque idealogue arriving to save the day. Also, Putin has been motivating his sheep with the very threat that defeat in Ukraine will cause just such a collapse. I'd rather take steps to assure the Russian people that the disintegration of Russia is NOT on the agenda.

  4. For all their propaganda, Russia really just represents Putin. Putin has painted his invasion as some sort of f***ed up Holy crusade against the West, but his war is really all about rebuilding the Russia Empire.
