@fredbloggs8072 If any species of animal really deserves the suffix "saurus", which is Greek for "lizard", it'd be these guys, since you probably know birds are the lineage of "dinosaurs" that survived the K-T asteroid. I personally think Reptilia should be split up into snakes/lizards (Squamata), birds and their closest living relatives the crocodilians (Archosauria or maybe "Avisuchia"), and turtles (Testudinia), which are slightly closer to birds/crocs than snakes/lizards but not that much.

@fredbloggs8072 PS: Even a primitive whale got the suffix "saurus"; Elasmosaurus.
