  1. The scam was due to the fact that the woman was stuck with a unit that she can't resell due to the depressed housing demand. She still has to pay the monthly mortgages. If her salary is just 3k/month, she's screwed.

  3. It was 1.8 million yuan. 2 million less the 200k the scammer gave her in two installments of 100k each. She got 200k but now stuck paying the mortgages for a unit costing 4 million yuan.
