@JL-tm3rc That is because Nato is not at war, none of their economy has been switched to war economy, Germany could produce 1 leopard2 tank per day per factory and then u have 30 other members.

@JL-tm3rc That is not how Nato works. Nato is a defence organisation which means certain member states focus on some task more than others, for example the UK is focusing on air power. They dont need tanks to protect their island.

@JL-tm3rc In the part of the documents where it states that NATO has the sole power to decide how to organize itself, by tasking the members' military branches individually as they see fit. The italians are in the naval military unit of Nato being responsibly for the mediterranean region. It would be foolish for each member to squander their resources suboptimally by only covering all existing military branches in small amounts. One of the reasons small countries want to join NATO is that specializing in certain military branches makes it cheaper to maintain their military while maximizing their security.
