Europe should step up it's military support. Ukraine is important to Europe and Putin knows this. If Ukraine can drive Russia out, Europe can use the natural gas deposits in this area. Making Ukraine rich and Europe totally independent of Russian natural gas. The final checkmate.

@joek600 Things can change.

@devon5807 So much to lose then.
2
@devon5807 that all depends whether the West can supply enough firepower to match that of Russia.
2
@thedeal86 If they will, they can. It all depends on whether they find it important enough.

@joek600 Same here... Hang on, it's now 2.49 Euro.

@Anna87147 Just do some research. Did you really think Putin was actually 'liberating' Ukraine?

@joek600 Putin doesn't give a rats ass about Ukrainians or his own Russians. It just about power and controll. Ukraine has about 5.4 trillion cubic meter of natural gas. Just look it up in Wikipedia. Yes, Ukraine has a corruption problem but so does Russia and that didn't stop us doing business. Ukraine was in the process to fight corruption. Europe has already plans to become CO2 neutral by 2050 and that means fasing out fossil fuel. Countries that rely heavily on selling fossil fuel will have a big problem in the future. Prices for natural gas were already high before this war. It will make the transition only more urgent. I to suffer from these high enegy prices but if this will makes us less vulnerable to future Russian blackmail it will be worth all that pain.

@fidozarua2253 No, just informed.

@goodlife6277 Don't confuse winning a battle with winning the war. Remember, Russia went from it's goal of 100% down to 20%. Even if they can hold this territory they will draw the shortest straw. It's just a matter of what hits first. A globsl recession or the effects of sanctions and oil embargo. Let's see how the residents of eastern Ukraine respond when Russia is unable to rebuild the damage it caused there.

@goodlife6277 Moral is high on the Ukrainian side which cannot be said of the Russian. Worry about the recession you are party causing because that will mean a drop in demand of fossil fuel and resources. Russia is screaming like hell over these western weapons so the must be doing their job. It's evident tgat Russia has maneuvered itself onto the wrong side of history and will face the consequences for a very long time.
