@beaur252 of course, please spend more. By some or the other way, empires will end...

@beaur252 and what if it comes in your lifetime?? What if your future generation bears the brunt???

@beaur252 Romans never in thier wildest dreams thought that thier empire would crumble so quickly. Yes, one can't say about the future but far as US is concerned, it's quite obvious that it's under chaos. Living under the constant fear, especially after 9/11 & 2008. As for other countries, well they aren't numbah 1 but they also don't have to worry about getting toppled from the topmost position. If you are at no.1, you are always in someone's crosshairs just like John wick...

@beaur252 well, not the entire Roman Empire, only the Eastern Roman Empire. The Western Roman Empire ended much early Also, the Western Roman Empire ideology is what US follows today, not the Eastern one. Eastern empire survived only because of its geographical locations & even then, they bore constant brunt of the seljuks & later the crusaders. Perhaps you don't know that during the first crusade, Byzantium was sacked for a considerable time. I'm talking about the end of 11th century. EventhoughByzantium officially ended in 1453

@beaur252 The Alston report In December, Philip Alston, the UN special rapporteur on poverty and human rights, set out on a two-week tour of the U.S. The report he produced made for uncomfortable reading. Alston concluded that despite the U.S. being one of the most powerful countries in the world, "neither its wealth nor its power nor its technology is being harnessed to address the situation in which 40m people continue to live in poverty." We are not used to hearing of UN-sponsored debates on water and sanitation being targeted at places like Alabama and Virginia rather than cities like Rio de Janeiro or Addis Abbaba. It is certainly jolting to hear these concerns closer to home.

@beaur252 According to the Social Progress Index, the US is facing "small but steady declines" in health and other matters and along with Brazil and Hungary was one of few nations to slide backwards on the index between 2010 and 2020.

@beaur252 percentage of population, which also means that US population is also far less than "poor" countries Also what about children safety in schools & when a basketball rolls into nieghbour's backyard or when a black rings the doorbell of a white owner?
1
@beaur252 and inspite of 23T economy, there's 11% poverty & poor healthcare. The pandemic saw heavy casualties in US as compared to "poor" countries
1
@beaur252 Few See U.S. Health Care as ’Best in the World’ From pewresearch site, September 29, 2022 Also 11% is actually too bad in comparison to US GDP & in comparison to population in poor countries.
1
@beaur252 Only 15% agree with you as per pewresearch site. Is that enough to say US healthcare is the best in the world??
