As far as I can figure it, BC and AD were relpaced with BCE and CE respectively, as a politically correct way of re-naming the time periods. I could get worked up about the change, and the Left-wing PC bollocks behind it, but why bother?
It does get annoying when they get mixed up in a presentation, such as using BC and CE together, or BCE and AD, stick to one or the other, consistently. That is poor scripting and editing.
Regarding 0-1 CE, there is no year zero in either AD or CE, which is why, as one example, the end of the second millennium was Dec 31st 2000 and not Dec 31st 1999. I really didn't care, it meant having two piss-ups instead of one. 😁😁😁🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
