  1. The stagnation really started with the zero COVID policy. The unemployment rate is higher and twges have been flat or even lowered. A very high percentage of university graduates are now unemployed and white collar jobs now often pay lower than blue collar jobs. Mean while the housing bubble still exist, so young people are still expected to buy houses costing 30 years wage. This is why your Chinese are doing the 4 no's - no dating, no marriage, no buying home, no children. I know similar issues exist in the west, but the magnitude differences are huge, and while western countries are rich and developed, China is still poor and needs development.
