Those who do want the bill seem to fall into a few groups 1) students and young people for whom this is the latest ‘thing’ and who are ideologically captured in a number of anti-intellectual, anti-enlightenment courses that are easy to pass 2) sturgeon followers who just want crankie to continue for their gravy train 3) idealist nationalists who see ‘independence’ as all and this as a clever tactic to get there 4) the same old misogynists on the left hiding in plain site 5) a few supporters who have led a very dheltered life and just want to be ‘inclusive’ and are blind to the impact on women Most of those groups are starting to wake up toegaf is happening, but too late

  5. Scotland has never been progressive on women’s rights. Men have run a truck through women’s rights there for years. Opportunistic men WILL take advantage of ‘being trans’ to assault women - I was assaulted by one such in a female toilet in Edinburgh by a man in a wig. At least then, I could report the man to the police who made ‘some’ attempts to find the person. No longer…some MSPs are deeply sexist still. This law will effect the most vulnerable women and children. Anyone who thinks that trans people in Scotland are it’s most vulnerable citizens has had a very sheltered life. Protecting children also has become much harder.
