  2.  @fractalelf7760 currently it’s the Uk fragmenting (Northern Ireland, Scotland), not the EU. Countries want to join the EU, but want to leave the Uk.

  3.  @joshbentley2307  compare gdp per capita or debt between UK and Germany. UK has to outperform Germany for over a decade only to catch up. Or compare German and Uk exports. Not even a competition.

  5. The Uk is not an exception in Europe as an English speaking country. Ireland, Malta? Furthermore, as even Germany is introducing English speaking courts for businesses, it is not even an advantage anymore. UK could benefit from being the financial hub of Europe due to EU membership and full access to the continents market. That is gone.

  6.  @ElbowShouldersen  a pipe dream. The Anglo countries combined (Canada, Australia, NZ) have a significant smaller economy than Germany alone. And none are interested in UK leadership, they are closely connected to USA and intent to stay that way.

According to statista: Leading export countries worldwide in 2023, Uk is not fourth, but 13th. Decacorns: UK has 3, Germany has one. In my opinion, rather meaningless in the grad scheme of economics. If you go by "Medium and high-tech industry (% manufacturing value added) - Country Ranking", Germany is 6th with 60%, while UK is 16th with 48%. Considering that Germanys manufacturing base is bigger than UKs, so is its total value. "And it will outperform Germany in the foreseeable future due to there manufacturing model relying on cheap Russian energy." Germany`s economic model does only partly relied on Russian energy. Considering that russian gas supply is gone, and Germans economy only stagnated proves this point. It helped, but it was not essential. It takes some adjustment, but Germany`s economic power relies on education, infrastructure and a well developed mid sized industry base. Feel free to correct me, or clarify if I misunderstood a point of you.

  8.  @ElbowShouldersen  This Union for security already exists (5 eyes). It is lead by the USA. Canada is already in an economic union with the USA. The UK is simply too small and far away for the other countries to be really relevant. Furthermore, considering the history, Canada, Australia and NZ do not WANT to be lead by the UK. And the USA is in a completely different league. CANZUK is a pipe dream. The economies are too small and too far apart to form a functional economic union. Canada and Australia both provide resources to the big players (USA/China), the UK has nothing to offer to them.
