  2.  @Andre-by4su  thinks have indeed changed, there was a big shift. Since 2014, Russian living standards are in free fall. Taxes are rising, currency is in decline, pension age for male is now above the average living age. If you follow Russian news closely (Medusa, as a possible source) you see that there are a lot of protests going on in eastern Russia.
