@Kabup2 of course there is. Go to Italy, where you have shitty private roads, or Switzerland, where you have excellent public roads.

Ocean Blue in what regard is US infrastructure better than in Germany? For instance, high speed railroad network in Germany is several times bigger than US, and Germany’s power grid is much more robust.

Ocean Blue so you are unable to provide an example of US infrastructure being better than German, and prefer to compare the US to third world counties. The article to posted does not compare US to Germany and therefor is nothing to proof your point.

Ocean Blue High speed rail network in operation: Germany: 1,856.4 km USA: 301 km I am curious, which infrastructure in the US in more advanced than Germany? An example, please.

Ocean Blue What is user friendly about US infrastructure? No power in wintertime? Collapsing bridges? No highs peed railroads? No public transportation besides big cities? EXAMPLES!

Ocean Blue I disagree. The US still uses checks, in the Eu, including Germany, money is directly transferred to bank accounts for wages, pensions, rent, electricity. And almost all shops accept Debit Cards. Air conditioning is not required due to climate and building decently isolated houses. And washing machines? Over 96% of German households have one, but only 85% of US households. Traffic signs to confusing? You said you never were in Germany, so how do you know?

Ocean Blue and for your information: Germany is 9th in international tourist arrivals, so more than both UK and Switzerland.

Texas just proved that its infrastructure is quiet bad when their grid could not handle the winter.

@wgameplay2719 The size difference between USA and Germany is a factor of 30. Please elaborate what you mean by aid for many years. The size difference does not explain the lack of high speed rail network in the USA, does it?

@wgameplay2719 VAT does exist in the US, but not as a federal tax like in Germany, but as a state tax. I am aware of the size and population difference. Still, US lacks investment in key infrastructure. Politically, if there was the choice between investment and tax cuts, the later was always chosen, and the US now suffers.

Vinay Paul German Infrastructure score 90.2 US Infrastructure score 87.9 If the German infrastructure is as bad as you say, the US is even worse. (source: Global country ranking by quality of infrastructure 2019 by by M. Szmigiera, May 14, 2021) What is your obsession with skyscrapers? They are only necessary if the land value is high, otherwise they are just rather expensive (square meter per $ investment is bad). German infrastructure is actually younger than US, as most was destroyed in the 2. WW and had to be rebuild.

Yes, I find the fact that UK railroad is now owned by other national railroad companies (Germany, France...) rather funny.
