Comments by "Neodym" (@neodym5809) on "‘We’re not ready’ for No Deal Brexit say UK customs" video.
Rotterdam, the dutch port that handles a good part of UK`s international imports and exports, has more capacity than UK`s three biggest ports combined, as well as the necessary infrastructure for checks (phytosanitary). Did the UK expanded its capacities? Did they build new facilities at their ports? No? Then it is to late now, it takes years to plan, and even longer to build. You do not crash out a country of its international trade framework without the necessary plans and preparations. This is economic suicide.

So you demand to close down opposing media. A rather fascist move.

@keithhiggins2237 How is the video not neutral? If UK customs is not ready, it isn`t, rather simple.

@keithhiggins2237 There is not a single country in the world the EU trades on WTO terms, the UK would be the only one. It is much more difficult, without bilateral MRAs the amount of required custom checks is more than the UK can handle. Most of the infrastructure to check UK imports from around the world is in Rotterdam, and the UK failed to replicate it. Coupled with WTO MFN, the UK would get in dangerous terrain if it treats imports differently from each nation without further agreements. The amount of lorries which has to be checked in Dover increases from 3% to nearly a 100%, which means infrastructure has to be increased by a factor of 30. Additionally, the customs IT was developed before anyone knew of Brexit, and can not handle the increase in requests. There were three years time. They weren`t used. Now the UK is not prepared.

@keithhiggins2237 Do you propose unchecked borders so inferior goods can flood the UK market? Remember, imports for non EU countries were often checked in Rotterdam and then send to the UK (South American food imports in particular). This will not be possible post Brexit, so the UK has to replicate Rotterdam infrastructure to be able to trade with the world. It has not done it, and it is not possible in three months time. There is still no plan or concept for UK`s economic model post Brexit. Trashing your whole trading framework without having a replacement seems like a rather bad idea. And several nations (USA, Canada, Japan...) already said that in case of no deal Brexit, they have no interest in a Free trade Agreement. Opposing the majority is not antidemocratic. It is the core value of democracy. And it is the job of the people who proposed Brexit, not of those opposing it or the EU, to make it work. And they failed.

Not if you ask US congress. No deal for the irish border means no deal with the US.
