The UK was part of the EU and therefor UK farms were EU farms. The UK government plans to pay farmers to stop farming/producing food and rather turn their land into forests/ wild lands. So nobody is paying farmers to produce food anymore, because EU CAP is gone.

Russia is poor, has a terrible infrastructure outside Moscow and 20% of the Russian population have no indoor plumbing. Furthermore, the UK can not become self sufficient, at best it would only be able to feed half its population, not to mention the lack of oil/gas/metals.

@jpfrank4228 So what EU regulations do you want to abolish and why? I want specific examples. Furthermore, how does it increase UK´s competitiveness at the world stage if due to reduced regulations other entities start increasing tariffs to UK products to counter them? The EU, which is a market for 40% of UK´s export, and due to its market size and geographic location will remain UK´s most important market, will introduce tariffs on UK products the second they fall below EU regulation.

I doubt he has the necessary land to let his pigs range free, and the issue of who would by them remains, as he is still outside the single market. Furthermore, he would require some certification to be able to sell his pigs as free range, which requires rather weeks than months, and the market for such meat is small, as it is a luxury niche, so it remains doubtful that he can sell.
