Yes, I know that the footage is from Sullivan. Antifa groups and other activists were warning people about him for months leading up to this.   16.  @MrHazyDayz  Yes, exactly. Both such situations occurred. Have you been looking at the ensuing legal cases? There are some very different levels of charges. Besides the charges for attacking cops, the heaviest charges tend to involve conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding (prevent certification of the election), and things like that. You can see it in this very video, and the other footage that shows the organized groups who had maps and plans of what to do once they gained entry. The District of Columbia has very strict gun laws, partly due to the city being full of VIPs, and partly due to the effects of the Crack Wars. It's certainly not hard to believe that in a big crowd of DC-area residents, some would be CCW holders (there is no reciprocity w/other jurisdictions), but it's pretty notable to find firearms among (mostly) outsiders involved in something like the assault on the Capitol! As for the 2nd Amendment, it's mostly liberals who have a problem with it (although quite a few liberals do own guns), not leftists. The further left you look, the more weapons you find. That's been true for a long time.

  19.  @zachcramond3252  Some of that's true, but what civil rights bill are you referring to? The 1968 Act had bipartisan support, and was signed by LBJ. The same was true in 1964, but that was the one that first infuriated the Dixiecrats, with enormous consequences to follow. (LBJs quote is also disputed.) Yes, all of that is definitely racist, but Republicans were hardly opponents of things like the crime bill! To bring it back to this video, the mad (angry) people here are not exactly Democrats.

  22. Not many were arrested at the time, but hundreds have been caught by now. Doing a mass arrest might not have been possible; it would have been necessary to surround anyone who remained in the building, and the police probably couldn't coordinate that on the fly. Instead, they just pushed everybody out.

  25.  @MrHazyDayz  Several of the arrestees had concealed firearms on them, and heavier weapons were stashed at a hotel in VA. Also, obviously, the attackers had a huge amount of melee weapons.

  26.  @MrHazyDayz  No, that doesn't necessarily follow. Among the attackers who had firearms, it seems like none of them were willing to draw and be the first one to fire. That's a fact about crowd psychology in any context; once one person shows a willingness to take a certain step, others who had slightly higher inhibitions start to follow. Shooting a cop (or anyone else in the building) would have been a huge step indeed, since it probably would have led to instant return fire from the police, who of course had lots and lots of firearms.

  29.  @apollo1694  This was a violent attempted takeover (did you watch the video?), and it came close to being much bloodier. The attackers were a short distance and a short time (as you can see) from lynching lawmakers (among others), preventing certification of the election, and causing a Constitutional crisis.

  30.  @MrHazyDayz  Nobody has been accused of either. As for the former, I could see charges filed under the "levying war" clause. As for the latter, that would depend on figuring out who attacked Brian Sicknick, since the coroner/M.E. made it clear that the attacks on him were a key factor in the strokes he suffered. All of this, however, presupposes a judicial system with any sort of fairness. Some of the attackers are being charged with watered-down versions of those charges, such as Conspiracy and Obstructing an Official Proceedings, and others are charged with violent assaults of different sorts, but none of them are facing the sorts of charges that leftist militants, particularly those of color, would face. I just read an article about Daniel Baker, who, unless his appeal is successful (or he gets a commutation/pardon/etc.) will spend years in prison for some unwise speech. He's a left-wing activist who previously went to Rojava to fight against ISIS!   35. There have only been a very small number of sentences so far; in fact I think that there's only been one. The charges definitely vary, and a lot of the attackers are facing hard time. A YT channel called Plants and Politics has been keeping track of all of that.

  37. Not this again... Several of the attackers have been arrested on gun charges, not just the guy with the rifles and bombs in his truck. Nobody burned the place, but they did plenty of damage all the same. A Capitol Police Officer shot Babbitt. John Sullivan is not an "Antifa guy," he's a weird loose cannon; leftist activists were warning one another about him for months. Why do I have to tell you this?

His politics are incoherent; BLM, Antifascists, and other activists have been warning one another about him for a long time; and his video footage happens to be very important.

You say "unsuspecting people" as if, in the midst of a crowd of thousands of people battling with the police and forcing their way inside the Capitol, some of them would not have done so without listening to some guy with a camera whom they have never met before. He's been arrested and released in different places because he's gotten into trouble in various places, but it's nothing that would actually send him to jail, at least not yet. That's not uncommon. Seriously, get off of the conspiracy theories.
