No, neither NL or Italy are far right now. They are center to center-right at best.

They are expensive when they are being built. But unlike renewable energy, it pays off in time. Price of uranium is rather cheap, the production capacity is high and you can export energy in the future as well. Nuclear energy is great and reliable.

@extrapolate Nothing that Rutte has done qualifies him as right wing, much less far right or anything of the sort. On social and economic policies he has been center left at best. Even Wilders and his allies are not right wing, much less far right. They are a version of soft right.

Each country is allowed to regulate its own asylum laws. International law just stipulates that countries should allow asylum applications. But how and under what conditions, that is up to the host countries to decide. Heck, Japan has been historically taking a handful of refugees and nobody complained about them breaking international law. Anyway, in recent years international law doesn't work anymore especially when it collides with national interests.

You mofos keep parroting the idea of getting kicked out of the EU... when there is no procedure for a country to be kicked out of the EU. As for the fines and penalties. You don't pay them. Poland never paid a dime of the fines and penalties EU subjected them to. Neither did Hungary. Brussels can issue all the orders it wants. There is no way for it to impose them. Them with what army? Eff off mate. Also, this election looks like will see a rise of right wing and far right presence in the European Parliament, so much so that Ursula is seeking a coalition with the conservatives. Guess what? The ECR party doesn't like this whole green shit.

@wile123456 Wouldn't be so bad. Limiting free press nowadays is just a scarecrow for actually limiting foreign negative influence. The West no longer has an independent press. The press has turned into propaganda organs and they are at the whim of whoever finances them. As far as I'm concerned, it should be limited and restricted as much as possible. And foreign financed press should be banned.

@zarekbeck3358 Correct. Most of the people today that are categorized as far right would've been easily center-right to even liberal just 2 decades ago. The problem is that the left has veered to the far left in recent years, and their center today is Lenin. Therefore anything that is right of Lenin is far right. The so called far right today is the only sane side of politics and the only people that have good ideas. Whenever I hear the label far right, I always raise an eyebrow. In reality there are very few far right parties in Europe. Mi Hazank in Hungary and Golden Dawn in Greece come to mind, but other than that, they are pretty much very fringe groups.

@zarekbeck3358 I miss those days too, but it is what it is. The left has gained a habit of labeling any opinion that contradicts their as fascist. Throwing this word at everyone, whether real fascist or not, has devalued the meaning of the word. If everyone that doesn't think like you becomes a fascist, then no one is a fascist. And real fascists can actually get away with being fascist because if everyone that is a non-leftist is a fascist, then no one is a fascist. Same with labeling everyone pro-Russian or pro-Putin for not agreeing with things done by EU bureaucrats. In such an environment, where serious accusations are thrown away in a cheaply manner, they lose any meaning and those that fit the definition can behave as such with no consequences whatsoever. Even more so, they gain a platform, they gain supporters. Because this is how fascists and Putin gain followers and respect.

Netherlands never truly had a right-wing government. It was always the left, the far-left, and the modern 'center-right', which is a form of soft left. NL has been ruled by a bunch of WEF leftist clown for over a decade by now. If the country actually had a proper right-wing government, it wouldn't have the problems it faces now.

@Solstice261 Supports pollution, yet wanted to fuck up the farmers by cutting down their businesses all for the sake of pandering to green policies. Anti-immigration he had become only in recent years, due to a shift of popular views. Capitalist view of economics my ass... he increased taxation on both labor and businesses. That's as anti-capitalist as you can get. He is definitely left wing guy.
