Ukraine should fight and never surrender at all costs. When it comes to Russia, death is more preferable than defeat. Afghans never surrendered to the USSR, and against all odds they won. Ironically, they acted as the catalyst for the demise of USSR and not the other way around. Ukraine will have the support of NATO and all the civilized Western countries to fight a protracted guerilla war and cause as much financial, economic and military damage to Russia until it compels it to retreat. No concessions should be given to Putin and his oligarchs. May Ukraine be Russia's graveyard. Slava Ukraini!

Power play. Russia still thinks of itself as a superpower and for that status to mean anything they have to exercise control and influence on its periphery at the very least. These are just imperialist/expansionist ambitions and it has nothing to do with a perceive threat to their territorial integrity and security. Nobody intends to attack Russia and take land from it.

No coup was staged in Ukraine though. The people of Ukraine ousted Yanukovych and brought in democracy. Also, even if Russia tried to stage a coup in the US and have it joined CSTO, it takes months for the CSTO countries to mobilized and bring aid to Mexico in case the US chooses to step in. By them it will be too late. No missiles are placed in Ukraine or anywhere else for that matter and there is no intent to attack Russia. These are just Russian propaganda rhetoric.

Nah, it is Ukraine. Temporarily occupied by Russia. Soon to be liberated.
1
@huurux It will be. Russia will collapse under its own weight in the future. As soon as that happens, the territories it occupied will be liberated by their host countries.

Yes it is, more or less. More so than Russia, that's for sure.

@wren2900 Russia is the most corrupted and poor country in Europe. It's a well known fact. Ukraine is one of the better developed ones, less corrupted, less oligarch-infested and values liberty and human rights more than Russia. Slava Ukraini! Ukraine does even better than Russia economically speaking despite having not even a quarter of Russia's resources. We, the West, stand with Ukraine. Death to Russia!

@wren2900 Nah, you skipped Russia. Don't buy the propaganda.
1
@wren2900 It is among the poorest. Just that its own statistics are eskewed by 3 wealthy urban centers. The rest of the country is 3rd world.
1
@wren2900 Fake list. Russia is among the poorest. Ukraine is better off. Part of the reason it is poor is because of Russian interventions in Crimea and Donbass. Ukraine is a great country and a democracy, compared to Russia.

@wren2900 Propaganda.

@chuila7234 More civilized than Russians for sure. And brave enough to stand with the oppressed. I cannot imagine that either. Too expensive. I don't count on a puppet regime either. That regime will inevitably come under heavy sanctions and will be unrecognized. Which means that it will become a financial burden on the Russian state, like all of the unrecognized republics. Russia has been lobbying for a federative Ukraine precisely because with an inept Kyiv, it can rule Ukraine through the various autonomous provinces. Ukraine will become like Bosnia in essence. An ungovernable state that is taken advantage by stronger neighbors and foreign powers.
