  2. I use a child's model shotgun for my "bedside" shotgun. All the power of a 20 gage,* with the compactness I want for moving freely, all without having to fuss with the NFA. The Shockwave strikes me as an "ego" solution to a problem that's already been solved. *Don't scoff. 20 gage will do the job just fine, at 'house distance.' It's also much more manageable for those whom aren't as strong, or as well-trained.

  3.  @Whitpusmc  Bedside gun isn't a hunting gun. Neither is the shockwave. Birdshot has no business in a home defense gun. I load #4, which in home defense, in 20 ga, will absolutely do the job. I keep slugs in the side-saddle carrier. Just in case of bear. 😛

  4. Child's model shotgun. Yeah, I know, half of you are cringing at having to turn in your Man Card. Pfft. Don't care. I'm all about solving the actual problem, not my ego. Compact, maneuverable, lightweight, reliable. You can get them in 20 gage, which is plenty sufficient for 'house distances.' Oh, and they're inexpensive and you don't have to faff about with the NFA. There. Use case problem solved.

  7.  @theimmortal4718  yes, but that's a trap. Clint spends a LOT of time training, which puts him way out on the end of the Bell curve. For those of us in the middle of the curve, or worse, on the opposite end, the Shockwave only barely fulfills the First Rule of Gunfights: Have a Gun. Gimme my three points of contact, thank you.

  8.  @Seth9809  child model 12ga are harder to find, and are, honestly, over-powered for home defense. As in: too much lead moving downrange. 20ga is the sweet spot for do the job without OVER doing the job. Honestly, .410 would work, if you're well enough trained, but 20 gives you enough punch that if your shot placement isn't 'just so,' it'll still have the desired effect. The small size is an asset, not a detriment, in moving in small spaces like hallways - this is not urban combat. This is home defense. So, no. I reject your assessment.

  9.  @thomasbecker9676  any community of sufficient size will have idiots. I'm willing to bet you that plenty of Musk's fanbois are experienced practicing engineers. I know a couple, to be sure. Doesn't make them the norm, though.

  12.  @theimmortal4718  "Child Model." It has all the advantages of being short. It has all the advantages of three points of contact. It has all the advantages of proven design and use. Those are the criteria for successful home defense. Because, let's be honest here, none of us in this thread are going to be breaching doors. So why bother, unless you're just looking for a range toy?
