  2.  @guts-141  I'll grant that; a lot more allies would have died. End result would have been the same, though. The engineering hoops through which the Germans leapt is astonishing. Someone once said that "supreme excellence in engineering is not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing more to take away." In that respect, Germany managed to embrace both ends of the spectrum.
