@toddwilson626 mostly, we don’t agree. An incredible percentage of homeless are either drug addicted or mentally ill or both. A chicken -egg situ; which came first? Our social safety net is non existent due to Reagan in the 70-80s & it’s only gotten worse. Yes, some are slackers but the vast majority are sick.

@toddwilson626 well that’s just it. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to commit ppl these days? Oh my I could write a book about all the cases that have “slipped thru the cracks”. Drug abuse often starts as a mental illness and those suffering ‘self-medicate’. Trust me, I know this when a significant took a dive. She eventually died of a heroine overdose. Repeat that 100K times/yr. Families don’t have the means to commit their relative to either mental health OR drug rehab. They wind up in the street. I’m not a softy liberal. These ppl pose a risk to our national security & civic lifestyle. But short of putting them against a wall & executing them, what other alternatives are there, except social programs that have proved themselves in Norton European countries. You can find stats all over.

@tedc3895 yep, the end result of yrs on drugs. What got them to that point? Where was the support network, the intervention, the rehab? No matter how you slice & dice it, they are costing us million$$. You can call me an idiot, but I don’t hear a solution… to repeat, short of rounding them up & executing them, you have any ideas? Or just name calling?
