  1. Addiction is a real problem; a psychological & societal one. But there needs to be some personal responsibility too. If you knew your custody of your child was jeopardy due solely to your drug use; why wouldn’t your priority be to your child, so you’d work with mandatory drug rehab programs given as part of a court ordered directive? On some level, a decision was made to take that hit or injection, regardless of your own child. This has less to do with police “abuse or torture” & more to do with the failure of each addict to see what’s most important, & work towards recovery. Laws, programs, court directives, relatives & all the money in the world can’t help if recidivism is continual.
