I agree reparations should be paid by France & the US, but where will reparations go? Into private Swiss bank accounts? Where’s the Petrocaribe money?

@Delflorpadem based on recent past facts, where’s the Petrocaribe money? It’s a reasonable question and relevant as to whether any money gets paid, regardless.

@Delflorpadem you think strongly about it for sure. It’s your right to that opinion. But I’d like to see conditions attached that ensures reparation moneys go towards the actual people, not disappeared into corruption & private bank accounts. That translates to a Norwegian trust account that administers infrastructure development; ie hospitals, schools, roads, rebuilding homes, maybe even a Haitian police force that’s actually effective & enforces the law. I don’t know what the figures are, but how much money does US CBP spend every yr flying Haitians back to Haiti? France & the US owes it to the country to ensure reparation money makes a difference in Haitian lives. Permanently. IMO.

@Delflorpadem look into the current affairs of Haiti, please. Lawlessness is rampant. Roving gangs. You distribute money to people & kidnapping, robbery, murder will light up like a Xmas tree. It’s just a fact. Remember the kidnapping of American & Canadians in 2020? It’s out of control.

If we can get a huge sum of money to Haiti, let’s not squander it. If we lose it to corruption, Haiti will have lost their chance to turn things around, probably forever. Because the world will throw up their hands & give up; feeding into the racist narrative.
