@monas I have no doubt that you genuinely feel this way, but I doubt you can justify these feelings with any facts. Conservativism, on the other hand, has many examples associated with it apathy, hypocrisy, greed and selfishness. These erode the fabric of society.

The people pushing back against greedy corporations, to spend tax payers' money actually on tax payers instead of banks who take irresponsible risks with investments and the economy, and never paid for their transgressions? The ones who want to put in place social welfare safety nets like Medicare For All and the recent infrastructure bill, which corporates like Joe Manchin are trying to block, and the likes of Mitch McConnell egging him on? You have a very twisted take on what is moral, buddy. You even have to recycle that three houses thing. Bernie has one in Vermont, where he is based, one in DC, where he often works, and the last one is his and his wife's. That's nothing compared to lots of other senators, and this is hardly a life of decadence. Frankly, I don't begrudge anybody having nice things so long as they are fighting for the people, ie us, ie YOU.

@tobia5267 There are gym coaches who fell egregiously ill and even died from COVID. They follow strict health routines before they came down. Being vegan does not automatically make you healthier. In fact, you are at risk of specific nutritional deficiencies if you haven't a broad enough diet. None of this, though, had anything to do with how your immune system fights a virus.

In a country where a large number of people have to work multiple jobs just to make ends meet, where productivity went up over the pass decades, but pay went down, all the while we witness the very rich piss away their money racing to get into space, buying yachts that needs an accessory to accommodate a helipad, while constantly squeezing their workers in terrible work conditions for their wealth to exponentially grow. You are being contrarian here by twisting facts and reasons. You are either a complete and utter fool with no idea of what is happening in the world, or a paid stooge doing a very bad job of defending the exploitation. Americans actually prefer progressive policies, as reflected in surveys. They prefer universal healthcare coverage and police reform, but when you refer to them by labels, this changes, because your media has spun it and given them negative connotations. You need to stop lying now.

@monas You think Bezos or Musk work a thousand times harder an hour than your average worker that they deserve to be paid that much? And there's the key word: *fortunate*. It was a matter of luck that they acquired the opportunity to explode in wealth. We aren't jealous of them, and we don't need their obscene amount of money. We need to make enough to live plus a little more to save up for special treats and emergency. We want financial security, not worry that a broken arm can lead to a hospital bill bankrupting us.

@monas Except they didn't. Musk's many projects would have put him under if not for government grants, and Bezos worked to exploit his employees. You can't lie for them.

@monas The better question is, why aren't they treating their workers better? Why not pay them better so they aren't living teetering on the edge of bankruptcy? Why go to the extreme of denying bathroom breaks?
