  1. The oil and farming industries are not run by "patriotic conservatives". They're run by businessmen in suits, and they will most likely either stay out of your squabble or side with the govenrment, because they're fully aware that the cities control their bank accounts, loans, and assets, and if the government falls, all of their foreign trade deals are null and void. They will not recognize the deals they made with the US as being legitimate with the New Confederacy, or whatever you call yourselves. By the way, Right To Work means that if you aren't in a union, they can immediately fire your ass if you try.

  2. Um..... the conservatives DIDN'T win the civil war. The Democrats and Republicans of today have basically nothing to do with the Democrats and Republicans 150 years ago except the names and other superficial symbology. Modern labels don't really apply and don't fit properly, but best fit is that the Republican-dominated Union were the progressives, and the Southern democrats were the conservatives. By the way, the rural conservatives lost badly and had no ability to actually win except by making things too costly. They failed to receive legitimacy from foreign nations, had out of control inflation and a worthless un-backed currency, and were ultimately starved out when trapped between a blockade of the Gulf of Mexico and an army that was burning the fields to to the ground.
