  6. Republic means we have chosen leaders, not a hereditary king. The fact that you, nameless unimportant peasant, get to choose who your leader is is called "Representative Democracy". If you don't like that, you can always move to China, where the ruling party makes all of the decisions for you. That's a republic too.
