The Universe likes its little ironies. Of course its not all the Nazis fault. Human nature (on all sides) also contributed to the current tragedy that is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

@pietersteenkamp5241 Please tell us all about the "tremendous moderation of popular democracy" in the USSR, the PRC, and most any other country who's governement embraced Marxist Socialism. This will be amusing.

@Damatis Do you actually know how little the Bolshevik soviets or the PRC''s "people's committee" were actually comprised of the actual workers, instead of just a new crop of bureaucrats (ie: the low-profile bourgeoisie )? And how little rights and freedoms you actually had as a member subject to the whim of a local soviet committee? Or are you just an internet socialist filled to your eyeballs with BS wishful thinking you've read?

@pietersteenkamp5241 Agaain with the philosophical rhetorical navel gazing. The two examples of "socialist democracies" were yours. Not mine. History and human nature proves that your notions are wrong, just as all "socialist thinkers". It simply doesn't work. Socialism ALWAYS devolves into authoritarianism and totalitarianism. Just as communism always devolves into anarchy and disillusion. The USSR and PRC made "radical progress" because they started rebuilding their nations from near pre-historic level, surrounded by an advanced world that they could "borrow" (steal) technology from and bypass the entire Industrial Age development. And they did this at tremendous cost to the individuals that were forced to sacrifice themselves "for the good of the State".

It would be a refreshing change up to the evils of capitalism for a while. lol

You guess don't understand what " borgeoise" means.

@DavidGarcia-oi5nt Not "boogeyman". Just "idiot".

@Damatis I don't see any proper sources in your post. All I see is badly written gibberish that might be anecdotes or is probably just crap you pulled out of your ass and the very same propaganda you are referring to.

The average casual socialist doesn't care or think of that. They only care about what is in their short-term best interest. What benefits or freebie programs are they promised. What "sounds good", save the whatever , the rich should pay to help the whatever etc. . They don't care if it consolidates power in the handful of elites, and that it erodes their rights and freedoms, up until the point where they bump in to the wall of their socialist cage, but then its too late.

Never underestimate the power of stupid people to be stupid.

@Damatis Fascist are "left" because they want to put control of society in the hands of the government just like Marxists. Except they want their change to be retrograde, to some usually false notion of how things used to or should have been. Thus TIK's characterization of Nationalist Socialism is valid.

@Damatis Capitalism is an economic system, not a socio-political one. Capitalism is the means of production (economy) in private hands, regardless of political system. Democracy, feudalism, even authoritarianism (China). Where as in socialism, since you don't have private control, its all government, and thus all political. You are making the usual simplistic socialist mistake "mate".

@Damatis You're either high/drunk or you've handed this account off to another operator with much poorer English skills. I can't even tell what the hell you are trying to say. Can you put someone on who can write a coherent sentence please?

@Issac Arellano But the world would still be here and it might even be better.

Only "wheel spinning" because America is in socioeconomic retrograde, so Libertarianism does't sell when inequality is growing/changing as wealth is decreasing, while cultural institutions atrify and decay leading people to be attracted to the siren song of Socialism again. The majority want to be coddled by the State and are willing sacrifice their personal freedoms and rights in order to take the apparent easiest path thru life, even though time and again its been shown to end badly. Remember that the UK and Europe have lived with "democratic socialism" for longer and to greater degree than the US, and they see what has already been tried and failed there.

@Earlybird86 You seem to be assuming a lot. You know what that makes you look like right?
1
@Earlybird86 That would be incorrect. Much like your premise.
