@mechizawa I love ships, I love anime. I love girls. But mixing them all together just seems odd. 🤔

@EdAtoZ Utah has its own memorial. Still there.

@ParabellumHistory incorrect. The Oklahoma was never scrapped. It sank while being towed back to the States.

@willa.568 Same purpose. The cage came first. Just a design fad of the era.

@aylwinbin About the same as her sister USS Pennsylvania.
2
@toddwebb7521 Not really. Max Speed is not used continuously.

@EdAtoZ you kind of forget you're not just talking one battleship to salvage. You had all of battleship row. If you see his video on Pearl Harbor salvage; she was already a write-off. You had other bigger priorities to spend time and money on.
2
@nikospipilis7679 the RAF and the Fleet Air Arm did repeated attacks on ships in both Norway and France.

Speaking of history.... Women have made some noteable firsts lately. The RN has its first Female Rear Admiral now. The USN has its first Female CVN Skipper deploy on USS Abraham Lincoln. And the USS Constitution has a Female skipper for the first time in 200 Years.

@EdAtoZ upright? I think you're confusing Utah with the Oklahoma that capsized?
2
Long overdue for a new ship to be named.

@kiltedguard National Archives has stuff like that.

@Jman7133 neither were practical events. There's no way to mount a serious invasion. But as to your main question? It's a long swim back to San Francisco. The Navy has no basing options in between.

@jasondouglas6755 smoke screens first came about with the introduction of steam power. They could naturally make lots of smoke with coal burning engines. Chemical smokescreens came later.

@EdAtoZ True. But the war has turned by that time.
1
@EdAtoZ I think they lost any interest after all the time spent on the Oklahoma. That's why Arizona and Utah are still there.
1
@1SKIALI actually at the Battle of Midway; USS Yorktown supposedly got hit down its funnel.
1
@EdAtoZ Yep. 😏👍
1
@jean-lucrobinson5089 you kind of asked one of those impossible questions? Can't prove or disprove or check.

@craighagenbruch3800 not enough time.
