As mentioned before, many of these ships were designed during periods of arms limitation treaties. This restricted the size and tonnage of ships for many years between the wars. There were certainly designs for 4 triple turrets. USS Montana among them.

@craighagenbruch3800 Well they are dropped in intervals and are depth set by the length of tether To them. They would have charts of the mine zone and nav buoys.

That is a whole legal mess. That's why you will notice people do not use copyrighted music on YouTube videos. Literature, music, films have such protection. And earn royalties for use.

@craighagenbruch3800 most of those mines were contact mines. That is type with horns. So no timer needed. Magnetic and pressure mines work differently of course.

@fabianmichaelgockner5988 Well, why not?🤔 Why else would you keep it any longer? While we on this channel have sentimental value to these things, they are war surplus.

@fabianmichaelgockner5988 Wikipedia for what it's worth, has a different view. First, the ship was apparently damaged in a collision with the Prinz Eugen. She was never fully repaired. Second it is stated she was used as a barracks ship for mine Crews. Not used for mine sweeping.

@ricardokowalski1579 do you happen to have block ships handy? 🤔 The Royal Navy is already borrowing lend lease ships from the United States. It's not like they have a ton of ships in surplus.

@fabianmichaelgockner5988 as stated, being a barracks ship or flagship is more about personnel and staff Space. Not actual mine sweeping... It does not appear to be seaworthy.

@ricardokowalski1579 agreed. Leipzig was definitely one of them.
