  9.  @alexandercorbett3095  Actually the United States Navy pursued the idea. It was called The Loon cruise missile. An American-made copy of a V1. And yes, they got it to work from submarines. As I said earlier, it took time for technology to catch up with the tactics.

  10.  @gregorywright4918  the U.S. Navy did actually get it to work. After the war they made a copy of the V1 called The Loon missile. And did launches from submarines on the surface. There's some videos online here on YouTube about it. All of this predates the whole Polaris missile system.

  11.  @michaelkovacic2608  just because you can convert something, doesn't make it a great idea. What is a German aircraft carrier supposed to do anyway? You're not going to send it to the Mediterranean. You're not sending it into the Atlantic to chase convoys. You barely have a surface Force capable of doing a surface action let alone form a carrier task force. And they spent half of their time trying to get ships in and out of the Baltic? So what's the whole point?
