@eiwtsexiang that's a ton of questions.....🤔 But, let's shag the flyballs...
1. No artillery shells are not glowing as they fly through the air. However, you might be thinking of smaller so-called Tracer rounds? Tracer rounds are shells or bullets with a small pyrotechnic charge at their base. When fired, a chemical component is ignited and makes them visible to the naked eye.
2. Japanese shells? They just look like regular shells, with the paint dye inside.
3. Yes, the Japanese did have anti-aircraft weapons. The whole thing about using beehive shells is a rarely used thing. Trying to use your main guns like it's a shotgun is not very productive.
4. Due to curvature of the Earth, the distance you can see will change depending on height of the Observer. This is why ships have Fire Control located in high masts and towers. The effects of weather also play a role. In general, the human eye can see about 3 MI or 4.828 km.
5.? 🤷🏽♂️
6. Japan had radar. But their Electronics knowledge and Industry was in its infancy. They were late to develop it. And to adapt tactics to use it... by the same token, So were the Americans...
7. That kind of precision? Not particularly practical.
8. Again, that kind of precision is not really practical. Trying to take out antennas and masts is hard.
9. Guns and ships very. But yes, all almost have local control whether the gun mount is open or enclosed.
