And that's where The Colt Navy gets it's name and engraving from.

@Cbabilon675 For simple explanation of how they work? https://youtu.be/uwLKZLFcVI4 As for Potassium use? Bit unstable a chemical for a weapon.

Depth Charges had manual setting controls. Subs had limited depth range. From 0 to say 600 feet.

@erikgranqvist3680 Think of it more like a car. They average 200k miles. A warship, about 30 years of use is normal. 70 year old ships and Million mile Volvos are outliers.

@Ralph-yn3gr 1. They were never thought of as AA weapons. Nuc or otherwise.... They have AA guns and dual purpose 5 inch weapons for a reason. 2. Did NavWeps make Nuc crusier ammo? Nope. 3 and 4. hmmm no... Missiles were a longer range option. The Loon and Regulus cruise missiles were fitted to subs as a early nuc weapon. https://youtu.be/FwwRBbpLUJI

@erikgranqvist3680 In practice, it has been political and economics that regulate over the Engineering tech. Nations down size and retire ships early to cut costs. Long before ships reach mechanical limits. But a good question....

@murderouskitten2577 Sounds better than the Chinese. The People's Liberation Army Navy... 🤔

@mattmopar440 On further review...... That video has been removed for copyright infringement.

@bkjeong4302 Range does not equal kill power. No FFG has that many weapons to damage a BB.

They are not hot on fighting things other than Godzilla. Hiroshima and Nagasaki have left a long scar on the society. It's taken 75 years to push them to build the Izumo class..

Useful for stopping a chasing destroyer as well. A shallow depth charge would crack the keel of many.

@CharlesStearman More a PT boat thing.

@KentuckyAk101guy The stern location is less cluttered. There is less risk of fire amidship among weapons and masts. Easier spot to place cranes to recover planes.

@jeffrey8847 No change. Change of tools does not help change the decisions made. Change the numbers faced, fuel and operating challenges. Just changes the names of the wrecks.😷

@scottdrone-silvers5179 1. Escort what? Nobody is escorting convoys from Russian subs. That Cold War game is long over. 2. Most navies already have gone to smaller VSTOL carriers.

@johnshepherd8687 Sounds a lot like the Air Force Genie or the ground based Nike anti bomber missiles. Not the most environmentally friendly thing; using nukes to stop nuke carrying bombers. 😏 But that was the wonder of the Eisenhower era.

@Matthieu031 Tojo and the Army still ran the nation. Based on the defeats of the IJN; his street cred in Tokyo would not go very far. So what changes?🤔

@EdVonPelt Just what do you need the airpower for?🤔 Baring a invasion of Norway, there are no convoys. Nor a long range air threat. And with most ships Flying the flag of Liberia or Panama; who is sinking merchant ships?

keith moore Navy training film shows the whole process. https://youtu.be/0OmOQs0ziSU

@mattmopar440 this one perhaps? https://youtu.be/Fn7EUyQ-pBA

@mattmopar440 If you go to the channel page and look under the Carrier section; #11 is removed. Reason? A writerm Joseph Springer has a book titled, "Inferno. " He filed copyright infringement.

Anything Made by Fiat Chrysler is guaranteed to fail.😏

@bkjeong4302 Well the US 7th Fleet can't seem to keep from running into cargo ships with that fancy gear. 😷 I guess you won't let the BB use new extended range shells?
