Well Ernst Udet certainly thought a lot about the Helldiver. The Stuka is the result.

Good grief.....I remember when you started this madness. 160 drydocks later? It has grown to Naval Dear Abby.🙄 I buy my used warships on Ebay and Craigslist........

It has no value anymore as a commercial vessel.

The logistics alone are problem. World War II as a topic is dated. We had 40 years of World War II movies. Like westerns, not in Vogue now.Nor is your average movie audience of 18 to 24 a prime demo for a World War II Naval movie.

@jlvfr And most are on land. Smaller cast, easy to film, easy to find props. 80 year old Japanese ships? Harder to find. Then the nitpicky nerds will balk about CGI. Or how all the actors today are imported.... Then there is budget.... what Studio is going to roll the dice to make a, "Dunkirk at Sea?"🤔

That's a stretch even for him.

You want a Ken Burns documentary. That does not make for a money making film.

@tominiowa2513 History nerds have to be practical. The general public wants, "Avengers Endgame." You want a Ken Burns Documentary. The result is in the middle.

Time, lack of hanger and sea conditions.

No..... Why do guys keep up the silly use of main guns in the AA role? And please don't start yaping about the Japanese.

@timengineman2nd714 the guns lack the speed, elevation and direction for the job. Throwing 8" shells as AA is a poor idea.

@gregorywright4918 The ship has DDG and or CG escorts for AA.
