  1. Nope - will never invest in Ali Baba or any other Chinese company. Whatever the Chinese authorities might say, would you really trust that China will respect 'independence' of any sort? Try asking anyone in Hong Kong! And as for the Cayman Islands, where the VIE is registered, well - there's a hotbed of financial dodgyness if ever there was one. Each to their own, but to me, all that adds up to unacceptable risk. Good luck to all of you who've invested though, hope I'm wrong for your sakes.
