  4.  @Phill-l9y  Perspective eludes you. The Chinese government (read: the CCP) can force Chinese companies to hand over their subscriber data. Once they have it, they can use it for whatever purpose they see fit. Western companies can't be ordered around like that by their governments, and said companies have to abide by strict privacy laws. In China, the government can even overrule the constitution if they so choose.

  5. Actually, Apple famously resisted efforts by the US justice department to open the encryption of iPhones used by suspects in criminal cases. The courts eventually deemed these demands unconstitutional. Keep up with the news!
