Is the odd political assassination still allowed in Putin's book?

More like a failed state.

Kirin Sama Failed states are just that, failed, no matter whether they're independent or not.

Kirin Sama You assume too much. Afghanistan was regarded a failed state under the Taliban the first time around. This time around, why would it be any different? The Taliban are not into power-sharing, so those who actually have a clue of how to govern a country are sidelined. Afghanistan is the land of the one-eyed, where the blind are kings.

Kirin Sama Naively, you think governing a country "islamically" is some guarantee for success. The problem with the Taliban -- based on their five years in power -- is that they have no idea what good governance amounts to. Their ministers were incompetent -- or just absent -- and they couldn't provide even basic services to the populace. Their regime was marked by brutality and totalitarianism -- in fact, it's more accurate to speak of an occupation under the Taliban than under the Americans. If it's any consolation to you, Afghanistan technically remained a failed state under Karzai and Ghani, but what we'll see now is an already severely troubled country going from bad to worse. At least the Americans and the international community as a whole pumped in money to keep the economy going. Now, the economy is grinding to a halt, and the Taliban are going to face an angry urban population with nothing to lose.

@Gucci05xx You need to look up "odd" and explore all its meanings.
