  8.  @onizuka88088  There's plenty of foreign pressure for Russia to upgrade its armour -- meaning MBTs -- and to produce viable stealth aircraft. So far, it has failed in both.

  9.  @onizuka88088  Thanks for illustrating my point. Russia is relegated to producing endless upgrades of Soviet-era kit. Why? Because developing countries are in the market for bargain basement stuff, and those are the customers the Russian arms industry can expect to get interested. And without exports, there's no Russian arms industry.

  10.  @onizuka88088  There's nothing wrong with third world countries being able to defend themselves -- did I suggest otherwise? Russia caters to the low to medium end of the arms market, but in the process, ends up with low to medium end arms itself. So, you're suggesting that Russia is adequately equipped for guerilla warfare. No doubt, but that's not the only game in town.
