  1. Nope, it's just as much about the US yet again failing to inform its so-called allies. Anyhoo, France, like any member of the EU, has the right of veto, so we can't ignore French concerns while the EU is negotiating a free trade agreement with Australia. And it sounds to me like a valid trade-related concern. What's the value of a trade bloc if it doesn't defend its members' interests?
