  2. It's not losing, much to bunker grandpa's chagrin. What's in it for Russia, as opposed to Putin himself, who's political career and possibly, his life, hinges on the outcome of this war? Truth be told, Russia has already lost. Nothing that it has gained from Ukraine -- or still could -- makes up for the losses that Russia has sustained.

  3. Oh really. Russia is less capable, Ukraine is larger and has powerful weapons of its own, which means Russia can't unleash its airpower on Ukraine or its airpower would be no more. Russia's impotence doesn't make it more humane.
