  2. Oh, it was an easy decision to make after Russia invaded Ukraine. Popular support for NATO membership remains overwhelmingly high in both countries. It's as if the politicians were forced to act fast or face an electoral backlash. Both countries maintain a strong defence that will only be bolstered by NATO. Their economies are none the worse for wear. On the contrary, international buyers and investors were momentarily wary of a Russian attack, but the prospect of NATO membership and Russia's poor showing in Ukraine has more than restored confidence.

  3. In all likelihood Sweden and Finland will remain nuclear weapons-free, like Norway has despite being a founding member of NATO. If you're looking for a cause célèbre, try focusing on Russia's nukes in Kaliningrad, and how that upsets the balance with all the non-nuke NATO countries around it.
