  1.  @TetsuoNL  The EU's security guarantees are pretty much an empty letter. If they amounted to a credible defence pact, don't you think they would've sufficed for Sweden and Finland? In fact, both countries favoured a EU-centric military alliance to NATO, but the rest of lazypants EU is fine with NATO fulfilling that role. Anyway, I hope that once in NATO, Finland and Sweden provide that shot in the arm to Euro-NATO that it so sorely needs.
