  1.  @TheValeyard92  You're being unkind to the Vikings. The Vikings were surprisingly democratic. Both the Norse and the Anglo-Saxons held their tribal councils in high regard, both being Germanic peoples. Norway, for example, slowly but surely -- without great drama -- evolved from a tribal democracy to a true democracy, and the world's top one at that.
