  1.  @VaucluseVanguard  Let's see about those democratic credentials -- Johnson received 23,716 votes in the 2017 general elections. Verhofstadt received 678,051 votes in the European elections of 2019. I think a mic drop is in order now.

  2.  John Smith  It's telling that you Brits can't leave on your own accord. You need a good kick in the backside to make yourselves scarce. Besides, patience with the UK wore thin already even before the referendum. Polls conducted in Germany and France before the referendum showed that out was preferred to in. That the EU wants you is just self-congratulatory babble.

  3.  @kevt3318  Let's not forget that British Parliament forced BoJo to request yet another extension in an effort to thwart attempts at a dramatic, off-the-cliff exit. I guess the EU granting it is the Christian thing to do. I mean, if you saw someone about jump off a cliff, but the person was clearly hesitating, wouldn't you try to intervene, if only to make sure the poor sap knows what he's doing? It doesn't mean we want to be on suicide watch forever, however.
