You think so, but you don't know so. Like Finland, Sweden has signed a host nation support agreement with NATO, which says NATO can use Gotland as a base for operations. Then there's EU membership. EU pretty much equals European NATO, a fact that isn't lost on the Russians. It's not prudent to try to convince yourself that you're neutral, while potential adversaries aren't convinced.
