  2. Thanks to the EU's agricultural subsidies and the UK's related rebate, the UK has been getting food on the cheap from the EU. If you produce domestically instead, prices will rise or you'll have to be generous with subsidies. The agro industry will benefit either way, but for Joe Bloggs it's lose-lose.
