  1. The irony is that before the fateful Brexit referendum, Cameron could've found allies in other likeminded EU members. The Netherlands was among them, but the EU's Scandinavian members, too, had similar aspirations. Cameron ignored them and his would-be allies gave up on the UK. Well, we know now that *exit is not the way.

  4.  @maurx6179  Nowadays colonies are just a drain on government coffers. The problem is not how to keep them, but how to get rid of them. I was alluding to Britain's diminished political clout, the dramatic drop in exports and the fast-sinking GDP.
