  4.  @imreboros9336  But Putin is perfectly positioned to become the peacemaker here. No negotiations, since he can achieve peace unilaterally, totally wrongfooting both Ukraine and NATO. One wonders why the 4D chessmaster doesn't seize the opportunity and issue a simple withdrawal order, and the war is done and dusted. The UN's General Assembly would congratulate Putin with (finally) complying with its resolutions, too. If Putin could also somehow induce collective amnesia with regard to who started the war, there could even be a Nobel Peace Prize in it for him.

  10.  @juz3r1  That's not borne out by the press freedom index. Freedom of the press in Hungary is deemed subpar. Ours is hunky dory. So, am I to conclude that the violent suppression of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 by the Soviets was a good thing? I don't know know why you suddenly bring up the Donbas, but the OSCE found no evidence of Ukraine targeting civilians. Don't parrot obvious falsehoods.
