I couldn't help but laugh when I heard that "Pituffik Space Base" on Greenland comes under the newly-baked US Space Force. I can't help but think of Steve Carell as General Nerd in the sitcom.

@trev5.566 Be that as it may, both the UK and the USA are by and large two-party democracies, the USA more so than the UK. It's no wonder that the Democracy Index doesn't put either in its top 10, with the UK in 18th place, and the US in 29th. Moreover, the USA is categorised as a flawed democracy. It's not the system per se that led to the downgrade, but it was the eroding trust in democratic institutions that did it. Trump's presidencies are symptomatic, and the divider-in-chief certainly doesn't improve matters either.

@etherealrose2139 If Greenland were to agree to become a territory of the United States, the Greenlanders are bound to do so only on condition that they keep their Euro-style universal healthcare. Wouldn't that create an uncomfortable precedent for the US? I mean, those unable to receive life-saving medical attention elsewhere in the US would use their last dollars to buy a plane ticket to Greenland.
