@sylvanusnicholasdadzie1801 I guess you couldn't find the right reply button. You must be thinking of a presidential system, where the president is both head of state and head of government, as is the case in the USA. In republics with a parliamentary system, a president is head of state, but a prime minister is head of government. As such, the president is no different from a constitutional monarch in a parliamentary system. Likewise, some presidents merely enjoy ceremonial powers, but others may hold so-called reserve powers, like a limited power of veto. Dissolving a government is just a formality that follows a no-confidence vote in parliament. Again, no different than if King Charles III were to dissolve Truss' cabinet after the MPs grow exasperated with her economic policies.
