  2. After his Novichok caper failed, Putin figured that de-facto banishment would be his second best option to neutralise Navalny. That didn't work either. Now he's turned Navalny into a regular Nelson Mandela. Poor Putin, it's one failure after another.

It's another matter altogether if Navalny will become the next czar of Russia, but Putin is clearly squirming because opposition to his regime is clearly picking up steam. Interestingly, Putin didn't foresee the Iron Curtain coming down with a bang, despite being stationed in East Germany as a spymaster at the time. He must be paranoid now.
