You'd need their permission, like Jordan gave to the USA.

They ought to make you an armchair general toot sweet.

@TheTryzna No, you cannot and Jordan most definitely gave the USA permission to set up shop in Jordan. The two signed a "Acquisition and Cross-Servicing" agreement to that effect in 2006. However, you're right about Assad's brutal regime in civil war-torn Syria not giving permission. I very much doubt Assad has the Syrians' permission to rule over them.

@AK-ej5ml Which country did Ukraine attack?
3
If so, you'd think they'd give some to the Houthis, who're doing minor damage to cargo ships in the Red Sea as we speak. Iran's hyperbole about their military tech is legend.
1
@festekj Navigation systems alone don't cut it. Hitting moving targets with an ASBM requires terminal guidance, where satellites are of little help. Besides, INS is precise enough to bring an ASBM close enough close to its intended target to let terminal guidance take over. Also, it's one thing to hit a lumbering freighter on a fairly predictable course, but quite another to hit a swerving warship that's aware of being targeted and has anti-ballistic missiles for self-protection. You're playing up Iran's military capabilities to fanboyish proportions.

@gfys756 The Houthis would need an ICBM to reach me, silly. If you want to add to the discussion, try to offer more than just an unsubstantiated opinion.
1
While at it, let's ask Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen and Syria why Iran is there.
1
@jawadad73 The fatalities occurred at Tower 22. It's common knowledge that there are US bases in Syria. Al-Tanf is not alone, although it's the best known one. Arracks against it have been reported many times over, even by what must pass as MSM in your book. You can even go and admire al-Tanf on Google Maps.
1
You're literally inviting the Iranians to build a nuclear strike capability of their own. Not very adult of you.
1
@Greasy__Bear Tell us more about this alliance. What are the treaties concerned and when were they signed and by whom?
1
@gfys756 No conspiracy theories, please.
1
@putrapratama-sq8hu Tower 22, which was struck and where the fatalities occurred, is in Jordan. You can look it up on Google Maps.
1
@paulcock8929 It wasn't. This was in Jordan. Mind you, al-Tanf, which is in Syria, has been attacked many times over.
1
@Ivan.A.Churlyuski Not quite true. Once, the Cubans did cash the monthly rental check for $4,085. Rent control...
1
@Ivan.A.Churlyuski Actually, it doesn't. If you refuse to trade with your landlord, that's no grounds for eviction.
1
There's only oil shale in Jordan. It's not being extracted at present, and US oil shale deposits are much larger.
1
Jordan has oil shale, not oil. It's not extracted at present.
1
@ahimel That's debatable. If the oil price shoots up, you're similarly affected.
1
@ahimel You'd detach yourself from world trade as well. US oil producers want to maximise their profits, so you'd have to force them to sell their oil domestically at a lower price. Perhaps if WW3 breaks out, but not sooner.
1
@ahimel For all intents and purposes, all freely traded oil is "our oil".
